Ledger Live now has the ability to select bitcoin coins when sending transactions

Hardware crypto wallet maker Ledger announced the addition of a new feature to the Ledger Live app version 2.11.1. It is called "Coin Control" and is available for Bitcoin and its derivatives. Coin Control expands the user's ability to organize bitcoin transactions. You can find it in the advanced settings when creating a transaction.

Previously, Ledger Live selected the oldest available coins in the wallet to send transactions. Thanks to Coin Control, users can choose which unspent transaction outputs (UTXO) they want to spend.

This function will help users not to become victims of the so-called dust attacks, when insignificant amounts of bitcoin arrive in their wallets to track further movements of coins and de-anonymize addresses. With Coin Control, Ledger wallet owners will be able to exclude such UTXOs from their transactions.

In addition, users will be able to optimize commissions by choosing the UTXO with the most coins tied to them. Thus, they will need to include fewer UTXOs in the transaction, which will reduce its size..

Also in the latest version of Ledger Live, the ability to stake own tokens of the Algorand blockchain has been added. Previously, the app supported staking Tron, Cosmos and Tezos.
